Adventure Academy Hordaland – Norway is a unique adventure education and wilderness adventure that gives participants right conditions and knowledge in outdoor life to help them complete their own dream adventures. The education is led by experienced and well-known guides and outdoor experts from the Nordics.

THE EDUCATION
ADVENTURE ACADEMY HORDALAND

For the first time ever Adventure Academy goes international. We give 20 participants the opportunity to be part of a unique intensive course that takes place in one of the most beautiful nature areas in the world. This is also a wilderness adventure like nothing else, where you get professional know-how in outdoor life, you challenge your own personal limits, and make friends for a lifetime.
Welcome to the most physically and mentally challenging course so far in the history of Adventure Academy. Become one of the 20 participants and follow us to an unforgettable week in Hordaland – Norway.

CONTENT OF THE EDUCATION
THIS IS WHAT YOU´LL GET

We focus on how to plan, implement and create the best possible conditions for carrying out your dream adventure.
The education is aimed at all levels and no prior experience is required.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
What is expected of you? We will go through how the education is organized and what elements are included. The basics of planning a bigger or less adventure. Project management and risk analysis. How to prepare physically and mentally for your adventure.

KNOW-HOW
Participants learn the basics in a variety of areas such as bushcraft, survival, wilderness medicine, navigation, alpinism, safety in water and hypothermia. Participants may exercise practical and theoretical challenges, individually and in groups.

NETWORK
During the education, participants get the opportunity to meet and hang out with people and companies active in the outdoor industry as well as meet experienced and newer adventurers. Participants are invited to fairs, lectures and our annual adventurer dinner.

STORYTELLING
What makes an adventure unique? What attracts sponsors and journalists? The participants learn conceptual development and the basics of storytelling. We also go through the theory and practice of photography and videography for outdoor environments.

HELL HIKE
Into the wilderness for a physically and mentally challenging adventure. Participants are allowed to test their limits in a safe environment to be better equipped for their dream adventure and for other challenges in life. This is an experience beyond the usual!

WASTELANDS
This leg will take you through one of the most epic trails in the world. Endurance, teambuilding and a first taste of the Norwegian landscape.
MOUNTAINS
Through the high mountains, 1000 meters above sea level, you will experience dramatic views and challenging climbs.
ICE & WATER
Raw forces created by nature. Get exposed to blue ice, cold water kayaking and learn everything you need to know about hypothermia.
HELL HIKE
Disconnected from civilisation, the Hell Hike will test your limits, and teach you about bushcraft, navigation and survival in the wilderness.
PRICING
1 250 euro

In addition to the education you will receive a number of selected products from our trusted partners. It could be shell jackets, duffelbags, water bottles, functional clothing or similar. What kind of products our participants receive varies each season, but the total value is always approx 750 euro.

8 days packed with adventure and education. New location each day.

Heading back to Bergen for departure. We will be in Bergen City at 12:00.

GRADUATED ADVENTURERS

Adventure Academy was founded in 2012 and has since then seen a steady increase in applications. Each year, about 40 people have undergone our Try-outs, of which 15-20 people per year have been given the opportunity to be part of the program. Let yourself be inspired by some of our many participants who have completed their dream adventures.

Sofia Johansson
An adventure that took place in the Romsdalen valley. Sofia, a 29-year-old construction technician, without previous experience of climbing, wanted as the first Swedish woman to climb 7 mythical mountain peaks in Norway, in 7 days. In July 2015, she did it in five days. For this, Sofia received the ”Adventure of the Year” award.

Julie Jacobsen
Moved from North Caroline to Sweden in 2010. In the summer of 2015, Julie’s fifth year in wonderfully strange Scandinavia. To celebrate, she decided to kayak 1000 km along the coast of Norway, from Trondheim to Tromsö. It turned out to be a 51-day expedition with pain, rain, laughter, new friends and lots of memories.

Fredrik Hjort
Trailrunning 300 km and at the same time collected money for Doctors Without Borders. Fredrik ran along magnificent nature, old roads, Roman settlements, eremitage and met amazing people along the 300 km from village to village, which is the original road from Oviedo in Asturias to Santiago de Compostela in Galicia.

Karim Walldén
A bicycle adventure of 500 km together with five newly arrived Swedish citizens. In their bags they brought unique stories, mosquito repellent and food for ten days. From the first preparations to unexpected encounters, common interests, prejudices, fellowship, barriers and to finally succeed together surrounded by nature.

Louise Östberg
By conducting an adventure a day for a whole year, Louise explored if the sum of many small adventures, could be as valuable as one large adventure. The project ended with her whole family leaving the squirrel wheel in Stockholm for another life in the mountains, where the adventure is everyday life, and everyday life is an adventure.

Erik Olsson
A 700 km bicycle adventure from Seyðisfjörður to Reykjavik. A classic adventure in unpredictable weather through Europe’s largest desert and one of the world’s most unique and varied landscapes. In addition to challenging himself, Erik used the adventure as a tool to raise money for the Cancer Foundation.

Pana Mogren
A historical route through sea, fjords and windy mountain passes, with the purpose of inspire. 1000 km in 14 days and 14 nights along the old postal route between Bergen and Trondheim. With the help of mountainbike and kayak, Pana took, as the first person ever, the hidden original route along Den Trondhjemske Postvei.

Simona Hrstkova
How do you best get to know your new country? You walk, bike and paddle between Treriksröset in the north to Smygehuk in the south, from Kataja in the east to Koster Islands in the west. Simona Hrstkova from the Czech Republic made it in 38 days and was the first solo-person to reach all of Sweden’s Outpost in one trip.
